What we offer
We are known for witty, upbeat entertainment - always accessible, but never dumbed down - a touch of class, a bit of fizz for your Festival, Conference, anniversary or very special party.
Choose from more than 20 existing titles, from poetry to full-scale dramatisations (see Productions available). Most of the shows can be adapted to suit your special audience and occasion.
Interested? You have several options.
There are, broadly speaking, three price bands, with local variations depending on circumstances and production requirements (including length):
Band 1 Lively performances of poetry tailor-made for your special occasion -- birthday, anniversary, conference dinner or literary festival. Not actually in costume, but hats and sound effects do tend to creep in because we like them, along with audience participation and the odd burst of glitter.
By popular request we increasingly include Open Mike sessions, in which members of the audience are invited to share their own favourites.
Band 2 Real life dramas, devised from your own historical or anecdotal material. These include the short "Mr Jackson" plays for children of all ages in Harewood House (of course, with set, costumes, lights and music).
This series also includes longer poetry readings framed in historical (or otherwise distinctive) settings, and fully staged with costumes, sets, lights and songs. The newest of these is The Miltons of Bread Street, celebrating the 400th anniversary of the poet John Milton in December 2008.
Band 3 Full-scale performance of known scripts - or scripts that should be better known – such as Noel Coward's P&O 1930 with set, costumes, lights and music.
OR we can write something specially for you.
No two venues or occasions are the same. We aim above all to surprise and delight your particular audience, and we are pleased that we have so far managed to do that! Click here for comments on our performances by audience and event organisers and illustrations of our productions.
